Investment Administrator

What is the team like?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-establish team comprising of Investment Directors, an Associate Director and Investment Administrator. The team has a wide variety of clients comprising individuals, families, pension schemes, trusts, and offshore structures.

You will be encouraged to build relationships with clients and intermediaries, share your thoughts and ideas on new regulations and help the team develop their procedures reflecting changing regulations and internal procedures.

The successful candidate would be viewed as an integral part in facilitating the ambitious team to continue to grow.

 

What are the responsibilities of the role?

Main tasks:

•    General administration duties to support the investment team as a whole
•    Liaise with admin and settlement areas as necessary
•    Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements / procedures at all times
•    Preparation of forms for potential new clients and organise client on-boarding
•    Arranging the transfer of investments for new and existing client ensuring the transfer is completed as efficiently as possible

Role specific tasks:

•    Distribute and respond to internal correspondence and e-mails.
•    Liaise with clients and/or advisers to on-board new accounts and ensure the documentation meets regulatory standards.
•    Arrange the stock/cash transfer; close accounts when necessary. 
•    Carry out full range of administrative duties as requested or by using own initiative.
•    Liaise with Settlements in respect of all admin queries and amendments to client information
•    Produce information for client meetings.
•    Assist in drafting portfolio suitability reports for prospective clients 
•    Maintain up to date regulatory knowledge and communicate potential changes in legislation to Investment Managers. 
•    Ensure all activities/actions undertaken meet and comply with compliance standards

 

What skills and knowledge are we seeking?

•    Competent at working to deadlines and managing own time.
•    Flexible attitude to work in response to changing workloads and deadlines within the team.
•    Exceptional focus on attention to detail
•    Good numerical skills 
•    Highly IT literate with an ability to learn new systems.
•    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
•    Working knowledge of Rathbones internal systems is desirable but not essential.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Investment Managers and clients.
•    Excellent telephone manner.
•    Relevant administrative experience in a financial services environment desirable.

•    Able to communicate at all levels and prepared to assist fellow team members in all aspects of the day to day business.

•    A team player who is prepared to put in additional hours, if necessary, to meet deadlines.
